Today, April 13, Vinnytsia received humanitarian aid from the twin city of Peterborough, UK. This is a whole truck with provisions, first aid kits, clothes, hygiene products and household chemicals. Both Ukrainians and all concerned British people joined the formation of the 10-ton cargo.
The community of Ukrainians in Peterborough was organized for good deeds by Yurii Zhuravel and Alla Irodenko, who have been living and working in this city for many years. With the start of the war, they initiated a fundraiser. Mr. Zhuravel says he was very surprised by how many people responded. And not only Ukrainians, but also the British themselves.
"During this time, about 15 trucks with humanitarian aid have already been equipped in Ukraine, the latter went to Vinnytsia. This became possible at the initiative of Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov and with the assistance of former Peterborough Mayor John Fox," said Yurii Zhuravel.
Among the goods delivered to Vinnytsia are food, clothing, hygiene products, household chemicals, sleeping bags, baby diapers and first aid kits. A total of 10 tons of cargo. And this is just the beginning, say the volunteers of the English twin city. Their community is already collecting new humanitarian supplies for Vinnytsia.
