Establishing Close Cooperation: Cooperation Agreement between Vinnytsia City Council and Wroclaw Industrial Park Signed in Poland
07 February 2023, 11:12
Representatives of Vinnytsia City Council went on a study visit to the Polish city of Wroclaw. During this trip, on February 6, a cooperation agreement was signed between Vinnytsia City Council and Wroclaw Industrial Park.
"We are starting cooperation with Wroclaw Industrial Park, one of the largest in Poland. Today, more than 260 companies and 11 thousand people work here, and three universities operate. The agreement signed with the new partners provides for joint projects, exchange of experience and innovations to attract investment. This is the foundation for economic recovery and accelerated development of our city after the Victory. We need to prepare conditions for business and, accordingly, for job creation. We have the potential to do so - we are developing four industrial parks and the Krystal Technopark," emphasized Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov.
This Agreement provides for the exchange of experience in the field of entrepreneurship, innovation and investment, as well as mutual guidance in the process of creating, managing and developing industrial parks, said Andrii Ocheretnyi, Deputy Mayor of Vinnytsia.
"Such close cooperation with our Polish colleagues will help us realize our potential and accelerate our accession to the EU in the future! The day before, we visited Wroclaw Industrial Park (WPP), where projects closely related not only to industry but also to business and science are being implemented. The complex includes office space, production and warehouse halls, and laboratory buildings on an area of 163 hectares," said Andrii Ocheretnyi.
It is currently the largest industrial site in Poland in terms of the number of companies operating on the territory: more than 260 companies covering almost 60 different industries. It employs 11 thousand people. The key and most represented industries include construction, electrical machinery, electrical engineering, electronics, IT, welded structures, metallurgy, metalworking, machining, transport and forwarding.
"After visiting here, I have only one conclusion: WPP not only provides space for business development, but also forms a community of entrepreneurs. It is important that Vinnytsia pursues the same goal. On the basis of our industrial sites, we create conditions for the implementation of business projects so that Vinnytsia residents can receive decent wages. We are also actively engaging the resettled businesses that have expressed a desire to live and work in Vinnytsia in our community," he added.
For reference: WPP employs Polish companies such as Archimedes, Dozamel, Dolnośląska Fabryka Maszyn Elektrycznych and Donako, as well as branches of international groups such as General Electric Power, Bombardier Transportation, DeLaval, Fortaco. WPP also operates three higher education institutions.
As a reminder, the Krystal technology park will be built in Vinnytsia's Vyshenka district. It will be the first municipal innovation center in Ukraine. The former factory building will be transformed into a modern business incubator that will become a magnet for creative youth.
