An official delegation from France has arrived to Vinnytsia on a three-day visit. During the kick-off meeting with representatives of Vinnytsia City Council, the Regional Council and the Regional State Administration, French experts discussed the purpose and plans for their stay in Vinnytsia. Mayor of Vinnytsia Serhii Morhunov noted that since the first visit of Vinnytsia delegation to Dijon they have managed to identify clear directions for further cooperation and enlist the support of the French government. In addition, the cooperation has extended to the entire Vinnytsia region.
The acquaintance of Vinnytsia and the city of Dijon began in 2019. Then, at the initiative of Mayor Serhii Morhunov, Vinnytsia delegation visited the French city for the first time https://cutt.ly/5nm4kvG. Since then, the results of online and offline meetings have identified four areas of cooperation. Namely, it is the creation of an agricultural cluster with the participation of industrial companies and agricultural producers of Vinnytsia and Vinnytsia region together with VITAGORA, the creation of an agro-hub, the improvement of the drinking water supply and drainage system, as well as management of water resources used for agriculture.
"I am happy to welcome you in Vinnytsia. Finally, after almost two years of a pandemic we have met not online, but live. We are consistently moving in the direction of deepening our cooperation. I am pleased that this cooperation is not limited to the level of Vinnytsia and Dijon, but also has extended to Vinnytsia region and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté région. This is exactly the idea that arose when our delegation was in Dijon. It is important that it promotes the development of friendly relations between our cities as well as between France and Ukraine. I hope that the stay of our guests in Vinnytsia will be productive, and we will get an effective result to continue working together. Perhaps, we will generate additional ideas. It is important that during these two years of our cooperation we have clearly identified four priority areas in which we need to move. There are specific shifts. We have already provided 1.5 million UAH in the community budget for the development of the agro-hub,” the Mayor Serhii Morhunov said.
Deputy Head of Vinnytsia Regional State Administration Serhii Zditovetskyi has noted that Vinnytsia Region is interested in studying the successful practices of European countries in the development of agribusiness and agricultural innovations. In turn, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Council Dmytro Chalenko has noted that France is one of the leading partners of Vinnytsia region. He’s added that the cooperation of territorial communities of different countries is an important area of work.
The French partners express their interest in the further development of relations. “Vinnytsia and VITAGORA are interested in the further cooperation. The pandemic somewhat has hindered our work. However, we worked in video conferencing mode. It is important that we are supported by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the French Embassy. A visit of the Ukrainian delegation to France is planned in a month. The visit will pass through Paris and further to Dijon. This is an important visit, because we want to develop specific areas of cooperation between Ukraine and France. We plan to introduce you to the French farmer who currently works in Ukraine in Solotvino. He is interested in the development of activities in Vinnytsia region. I think that there will be other farmers who will be interested in the cooperation with Ukraine after the visit to Dijon. I hope that we will be able to come again to discuss specific steps for our further cooperation in the autumn,” Pierre Guez, President of VITAGORA, said.
BETEN INGENIERIE president, Jean Roche, has noted that it is important to study the requests of each party as well as possible for an effective partnership. “These three days, which we will spend in Vinnytsia, are very important for the members of our delegation to understand as accurately as possible the expectations of Vinnytsia region. Accordingly, based on the results of this visit, we can prepare a program of the visit to France in such a way as to arrange a meeting with those companies that can best meet the requests. The main goal is food security and an ecological approach to agricultural development for the next decade.”
The first day of the French delegation's stay in Vinnytsia is quite busy. At the beginning, key areas of cooperation were presented at the Hub “City of Contents”. Then the representatives of the French delegation will be divided into two groups. One group will get acquainted with the leading enterprises of the agro-industrial branch of the city and region.
