Last week at the invitation of the
President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski Vinnytsia delegation headed by the Chairman
of Vinnytsia Regional State Administration Ivan Movchan visited Poland,
including celebrations on the occasion of the Local Government Day. During
the official visit, the delegation also took part in the opening of First
Regional Economic Forum, held in Wyszków, Masovian voivodship.
On May 31,
Mayor Volodymyr Groysman shared his impressions of the trip; he told about the
issues raised by the Governor of Vinnytsia Region during a meeting with Polish colleagues,
and plans to open flight “Warsaw – Vinnytsia.” In
particular, he said that for Poland, which he often cites as an example as one
of the most successful and effective models of local government, the issue of
sustainable development, strong self-government and self-sufficiency of local
communities has been and remains a top priority.
Volodymyr
Groysman also spoke about the prospects of direct flights between the Polish
capital and Vinnytsia: “The negotiations that took place were aimed at
deepening cooperation in various fields with Masovian voivodship and flight
opening. Governor
Ivan Movchan raised this issue with the Marshal of voivodship and airport
management. During
the meeting, Chairman of Regional Council Sergiy Tatusiak, I, and our other
colleagues confirmed our interest in this project to be implemented.” As
to the specific terms of its implementation, the Mayor said that this is too
early to say because it depends on many factors including the economics, and it
is necessary to carry out relevant calculations.
