"Winnica.Miasto idei" is a name of Vinnytsia promo stand, presented for seniors 60+ at Targi Seniora Fair and held on October 12 in the Polish sister city of Kielce. As part of the event, visitors had the opportunity to get introduced with tourist offers of Vinnytsia and its region in the field of hospitality, medical tourism, recreation, and entertainment.

For the first time, International Fair Targi Seniora is dedicated to the topic of the "silver economy", which aims to improve the quality of services for the elderly, including medical, sanatory, hotel, and tourist ones. A large-scale event was made possible by efforts of Mayor of Vinnytsia Serhii Morhunov and Mayor of Kielce Bogdan Wenta.

Bogdan Wenta welcomed foreign delegations from twin cities, Ukrainian Vinnytsia and German Gotha, at the opening ceremony of Targi Seniora, using their mother tongue, which was a pleasant surprise for guests. He noted that such measures are important for strengthening contacts between regions.

Business companies, NGOs and municipalities from around the world presented their exhibition displays at the fair. The fair of goods and services was combined with the work of the event participants in the format of discussion panels, workshops and lectures, as well as with entertainment program on a main stage of the event and other locations.

Visitors had the opportunity to take free medical diagnostics, consultations on social integration issues, participate in workshops, etc.

"It is the first time when such an exhibition is held in Kielce, but the silver economy in Europe is gaining ground. About 20% of GDP in some countries is provided by industry for the elderly. It was interesting for us to get acquainted with best practices of other countries, including Germany, where a lot of attention is paid to this area. However, I would like to mention that we also have enough positive experience of working with third age people in different directions. Our local center is quite powerful. There are active public organizations, various services are provided, and clubs function. To see new methods of work was the main goal of our delegation's arrival as well as to introduce the Poles to our hospitality facilities. Our health resorts are in great demand, and tourist offer is quite interesting, too. I think that the next step should be cooperation at the level of small and medium business, establishing specific contacts for the implementation of projects in this area and other areas," Mayor of Vinnytsia Serhii Morhunov said.

Vinnytsia presented its promo stand in the exhibition area of Twin Cities, which positioned the city and the region in terms of various ideas for leisure of silver generations. Podillia as one of the most developed centers of medicine in Eastern Europe offers quality health and treatment services.

Acting Head of Marketing and Tourism Department of Vinnytsia City Council Oleksander Wesseléni noted that Vinnytsia delegation included representatives of medical institutions, health resorts, hotels, tourist agencies and municipal insurance companies. Polish seniors were actively interested in information on tourist offers and medical services in Ukraine.

Vinnytsia promo stand "Winnica. Miasto idei" was very popular with visitors. Experts from different regions of Poland shared their experience in the field of social integration of people of senior age. Representatives of Vinnytsia delegation participated in the discussion and spoke about the work done in this direction. Vinnytsia offered to hold a joint Forum in Ukraine in order to continue a cooperation between two twin cities in the sphere of "silver economy".

"We offer to hold a two-day Forum. The program of the first day is opening, sports with the participation of teams from both countries, leisure activities, work on different locations, dumplings workshops, pottery, making motanka-dolls, an evening of the Polish and Ukrainian cinema. The events of the second day of the Forum are a contest of choirs and other creative teams, presentation of the Polish experience of organizing activities for the elderly. We also invite for tours of Ukrainian traditions. The main goal is communication and friendship", said Deputy Mayor Halyna Yakubovych. The event is scheduled to be held next year.
